Dubai: An accountant and a maid, who met in a disco and had sex three times in the sea at Jumeirah open beach, have each been jailed for a year.
The Dubai Misdemeanour Court yesterday convicted the 25-year-old Pakistani accountant and his 26-year-old Filipina girlfriend of having consensual sex.
Prosecutors accused 25-year-old G.I. and 26-year-old M.M. of having consensual and unprotected sex which led to the maid's pregnancy. According to court records, when the Filipina's Emirati sponsor discovered she was pregnant he told the police.
Presiding Judge Mohammad Ahmad Shoaib said the duo will be deported following the completion of their jail terms. The pair confessed to the charges in court.
M.M. testified she met G.I. at a disco in Karama. "One of my countrywomen took me out one evening to the disco to dance and have fun. I met the Pakistani accountant and we became friends. Later our friendship developed into a love affair.
He took me out to Jumeirah open beach… I swam with him for a while before we had consensual sex inside the ocean. We had unprotected intercourse… We did that three times on different occasions."
