Dubai: Dubai Police have arrested a suspected drug dealer from a hotel room in Dubai in a sting operation.

The Anti-Narcotic Department at Dubai Police arrested a drug dealer who himself is an addict from his hotel room after receiving a tip off. The suspect is accused of using and dealing in drugs.

According to Major General Abdul Jalil Mahdi Al Asmawi, Director of the Anti-Narcotic Department at Dubai Police, police also recovered 70.6 grams of hashish from the car of the suspect who was identified as B.Kh.Sh. He said the suspect admitted to police that he took drugs just two hours before his arrest.

Maj Gen Al Asmawi said another 16 grams of hashish were found by police in the hotel room and another amount of drugs from the suspect’s apartment in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT). He said the suspect sold small quantities of drugs and put these in plastic bags. Police also recovered the scale which the suspect used to weigh the drugs.

The case has been transferred to the public prosecution for further investigation.
