Algiers: Iraq’s Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya (Air Force Club) walked off after 70 minutes in their Arab Club Champions Cup tie away to Algeria’s USM Alger on Sunday following chants from home fans praising former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussain. Emirati referee Mohammad Abdullah waited 15 minutes to see if the players would come back on before abandoning the fixture.

Alger were winning 2-0 at the time of the cancellation and won 3-0 on aggregate following an earlier 1-0 away win in Karbala last month.
