Meanwhile, a truck carrying water bottles overturned on Shaikh Zayed Road at the Al Quoz exit around 4am, blocking all lanes and exits for hours and causing a traffic jam. Although no one was injured in the accident, the water bottles falling from the truck blocked the road until the debris was removed at around 7am.

The exit remained closed for another hour until all the debris was cleared.

In a separate incident, a student driver's car overturned near the fourth interchange at Umm Suqueim exit on Shaikh Zayed Road at 9am. The tutor and student were uninjured.

Although the number of serious accidents increased on Emirates Road in January and February compared to the same period last year, no fatalities were reported this year. A total of 21 serious accidents in the first two months resulted in four major injuries, 12 moderate and 17 minor injuries, while during the same period last year there were 11 serious accidents resulting in two deaths, three serious injuries, six moderate and two minor injuries.
