Dubai: If you are an Abu Dhabi resident and have recently tested positive for COVID-19, you can now help stop the spread of the virus through a new service launched by the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center (ADPHC).

On July 3, ADPHC announced the launch of a Contact Tracing Assistant as part of its efforts to protect the health and safety of the community. Here is how the system works.

How do I access the service?

According to ADPHC, those testing positive for COVID-19 will automatically receive a text message, with a link to download the virtual chat assistant.

How does the system work?

1. Verify your identity - You will first need to verify your identity by providing your Emirates ID number.

2. Provide necessary information - The virtual chat assistant will then request you to provide information about your symptoms, possible contacts and recent travel history. This data, which is store confidentially, is used to alert possible contacts and inform them to home quarantine.

The system aims to increase early detection of direct contact cases to ensure that they observe quarantine during the disease’s incubation period.
