1. Dogs try too hard. A cat doesn’t have to jump around barking to show that it’s pleased to see you.

2. Cats can walk themselves. No dragging your pet around the park when you have better things to do!

3. Licking someone’s face is not an appropriate way to say ‘hello’.

4. Whereas dogs play fetch, cats play the much more challenging ‘hide’. Ever notice how easily pens and Dh1 coins can be concealed under a thick rug?

5. Unlike dogs, if you get a short-haired cat, you need never take them to a grooming parlour. From claw-biting to fur-cleaning, cats are incredibly self-sufficient pets.

6. Dogs just don’t know how to play hard to get. With a cat you can have hours of fun trying to find their latest hiding place.

7. A cat would never be silly enough to think it could catch its tail.

8. Dog owners have to carry around baggies to clean up their dogs’ messes, whereas cats bury their own.

9. Cats earn their keep by keeping pests like insects and mice at bay.

10. ‘Man’s best friend’. How sexist is that?
