Dubai: The American University of Sharjah will host a Muslim affairs adviser to US President Barack Obama at a three-day exhibition and lecture series on religious co-existence beginning here on Tuesday.

The event titled ‘Co-existence between Muslims and Non-Muslims since the dawn of Islam' will focus on relations between Muslim and non-Muslim communities through history.

Tomorrow, Sayyed Ali Al Hashimi, adviser to the President for Judiciary and Religious Affairs at Ministry of Presidential Affairs, will deliver a lecture on ‘Islam's tolerance towards other religions'.

Journey of love

Bishop Isaac Al Anba Bishoy, Pastor of Al Anba Antonio Cathedral Church in Abu Dhabi, will speak on ‘A journey of love throughout 15 centuries'.

On Thursday, Dalia Mogahed, Obama's adviser for Muslim affairs, will speak on ‘Measuring the state of Muslim-West relations: Assessing the new beginning'.

Muslim preacher Dr Shaikh Samir Mattar will also deliver a lecture on ‘Islamic principles and treatment of non-Muslims'.

The lectures will be held in the Rotunda of the AUS main building.
