If you're a fan of sneaking a bite of raw cookie dough or licking the mixing bowl while baking, you'll love this dip! Cookie dough dip captures all the flavours of raw cookie dough in the form of a sweet dip. Best of all, it's a no-bake recipe that can be whipped up in under 10 minutes. Serve it in a bowl with your favourite dipping accompaniments for an impressive treat that's sure to please unexpected guests.

Cookie dough vs cookie dough dip

Unlike regular cookie dough, this is safe to consume since it contains no eggs or raw flour. The consistency of this dip is much softer and smoother than your regular cookie dough; hence it's perfect for dipping your favourite sweet snack in.

Some recipes suggest adding heat-treated flour in the dip, but I prefer skipping it to achieve that extra smooth dipping experience and melt-in-mouth texture.

Recipe

Making this dip is an easy process that only requires a few ingredients. You'll need butter, sugar, cream cheese, and either vanilla or caramel flavouring to create a smooth texture. Mix all the ingredients in one bowl using a whisk, which will result in a light and fluffy dip.

Preparation time - 10 minutes

Serves - 8

Ingredients

50 gms unsalted butter

100 gms cream cheese

25 gms superfine sugar

30 gms brown sugar

1/2 tsp caramel flavour or vanilla extract

1/8 tsp salt

60 gms semi-sweet chocolate chips

Crackers, berries, and pretzels, as required for serving

Method

In a bowl, place butter and cream cheese which is at room temperature.

Mix them using a whisk until well combined.

Add the brown sugar, superfine sugar and flavouring to the above mixture. Whisk it for about a minute.

Using an electric mixer, beat the mixture until it is light, fluffy and the sugar is well combined. It should take about 3 to 4 minutes.

Fold in the chocolate chips and salt using a spatula. Make sure they are evenly distributed in the dip.

Transfer the dip to a serving bowl of your choice and garnish with some more chocolate chips.

Serve with crackers, pretzels, wafers or fruits of your choice.

Bonus tips

1. To customise the flavour of your cookie dough dip, you can substitute the flavouring with any essence or extract of your liking. For a richer chocolate taste, add 50 grams of chocolate ganache to your dip.

2. You can add nuts of your choice or crushed candies in place of the chocolate chips.

3. If you desire, you can prepare the dip ahead of time. Simply ensure to store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

4. If you make it in advance, let it come to room temperature before serving for it, to be in the perfect dipping consistency.
