Paris Jackson, daughter of the late pop icon Michael Jackson, attempted suicide. She reportedly left a suicide note, took a kitchen knife to her arm and downed 20 ibuprofen pills but was reported to have called a suicide hotline as well, because of which she was rushed to hospital. Paris Jackson cried out for her dead father and said she wanted to live, after slashing her wrists.

A family member told how the 15-year-old daughter of singer Michael Jackson told paramedics: “I want to live. I just don’t want to live here. I wish my daddy was here.”

The teenager had cut her wrist with a kitchen knife and taken an overdose of more than two dozen pills. A suicide note was found in her bedroom.

Paris and her brothers Prince, 16, and Blanket, 11, have been living with Jackson’s mother, Katherine, 83, since their father’s death in 2009.

Jackson’s family is seeking £31 billion (Dh177 billion) in damages in a wrongful death lawsuit against AEG, the promoters of his final concerts.

The paternity of the children has long been questioned and fears that it could be revealed during the trial have been cited as a reason for Paris’s depression.
