It’s official! Solo singer HyunA and Pentagon’s E’Dawn confirmed that they’ve been dating for the past two years, since May 2016.
The announcement came after Cube Entertainment denied media rumours circulating about their artists’ romance. The members of co-ed group, Triple H, decided to reveal their relationship during an interview with Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, in order to be honest with supporting fans and to perform on stage with confidence.
HyunA stated that she met E’Dawn when he was a trainee three years ago, before he debuted as a member of boy group Pentagon back in 2016. The K-Pop star also admitted that they became close when they worked together for her stage performance of the single Roll Deep and continued as they made music together.
E’Dawn went on to add that he told Triple H member Hui, who is also part of Pentagon, first as he was worried it might affect the team and mentioned that he would repay fans by working harder on their music performances.
This is HyunA’s first public relationship announcement since she debuted as a member of girl group Wonder Girls in 2007 and joined now-disbanded group 4 minute in 2009.
Following their televised performance on Korea’s music programme Music Bank on Saturday, Cube Entertainment confirmed that promotions for the trio’s second mini-album Retro Futurism, have all been cancelled due to “internal issues”.
