Two months into the new year, wedding bells have been ringing loudly in Bollywood. Days after the wedding between actor Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya and cricketer KL Rahul, there is speculation that actors Kiara Advani will Sidharth Malhotra will tie the knot this weekend in the Jaisalmer, a town in Rajasthan, India, known for its exotic forts, palaces and other tourist spots.

The Indian Express newspaper reported about the wedding plans. Viral Bhayani, a Mumbai-based photographer has confirmed that his team will be covering the couple’s wedding in Jaisalmer from February 4-6. Bhayani shared on his Instagram handle that his team will cover the wedding, which will take place at the luxurious Suryagarh Palace.

"We’re heading to Jaisalmer to cover Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra's wedding. We will land tomorrow and then take a jeep to Jaisalmer,” the photographer wrote. "One team will have to wait at Jodhpur airport in case the guests aren’t taking chartered flights direct to Jaisalmer. We aren’t sure what we are going to get, but we will brace the cold weather and try our best." The hotel describes itself as “the gateway to the Thar Desert” on its website. It offers 83 rooms, two gardens and courtyards, and air connectivity to Jaisalmer for weddings.

Advani and Malhotra weren’t the only Bollywood stars to get married in Rajasthan’s palaces. In 2021, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal got married at an exclusive desert getaway, with only their close family and friends in attendance. Speculations are rife that the pre-wedding events would kick off on February 4. The first event is expected to be the ‘sangeet’ or a music function, with friends and family expected to join in the soiree.

As Malhotra turned 38 last month, Advani wished the birthday boy by sharing an adorable snap of them from one of their trips on Instagram.

On the seventh season of the TV show 'Koffee With Karan', host and director Karan Johar announced that things said on his show tend to manifest into reality. As was the case with Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, who are now married. In a recent episode, Malhotra decided to test this out and said he would want to manifest his marriage, and if possible let the bride be his then rumoured girlfriend Advani. Stories of their rumoured romance did the rounds in Bollywood for months now, but they got intense when the couple were spotted together on holidays and apparent secret dates.

Salman Khan also joked on his reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ that Malhotra will soon be a married man. Relationship rumours started after the two worked together in 'Shershaah', which released in 2021. The rumoured couple were recently seen partying in Dubai during the New Year celebrations. Details of what the couple plan to wear during the three-day affair remains under wraps.
