Abu Dhabi: The Kalima project announced that it is to release its Arabic translation of a publication dealing with the Indian classic spiritual book Bhagavad Gita at the coming Abu Dhabi International Book Fair in March.
Kalima, a translation initiative launched by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), will be releasing a contemporary literary study of the Gita text by Damodar Thakur, an Indian linguist and scholar specialised in Gita's spiritual philosophy.
Gita: Song of Extraordinary is a thorough, comprehensive, and comparative study of the Hindu ethical and spiritual teachings, presented by an author who has vast experience in the subject matter and sees himself as a disciple of the Gita.
Thakur said he is proud that his work, which is highly acclaimed by critics in the United States and Britain, is to be published in Arabic.
The translation of the book will further enrich modern Arab libraries with cultural understanding, this time of the East, which is among the objectives of ADACH.
