Sulaf is the new Shahrazad
Syrian actress Sulaf Fawakherji is preparing for the most anticipated TV drama of the year, Wa Tabka Shahrazad Tarwi Hikayatha Lil Akheer (And Shahrazad remains to tell her story till the end), to be aired during the holy month of Ramadan on MBC. Sulaf will be playing the leading role of Shahrazad, and she revealed that she "was thrilled to take part in such a drama." For Sulaf, recently nominated as one of "the strongest Arab personalities", playing the role of this influential fairytale figure from the Arab heritage is a great step forward in her career. The actress is also curious to see people's reaction to her portrayal of the famous character from A Thousand And One Nights. Numerous actresses in the past have portrayed the role of Shahrazad and now it's her turn. Will she able to meet people's expectations?
Carole's new duet
The Lebanese superstar will sing the duet of her life with Mario Rayes, the solo guitarist from Gypsy King sister band Gypsy All Stars. According to London daily, Elaph, Carole Samaha's new duet Laili Lail (My Night) is a mix of Spanish and Arabic musical influences and will be soon be released as a single.
After long deliberation Samaha was the lucky one selected among tons of Arabic artists. Mario Rayes' music managers travelled to Beirut to select a suitable singer and discovered that Carole fit perfectly the Western image of an Arabic artist, making her perfect for the role. The Gypsy All Stars' guitarist and the Lebanese superstar will be travelling to Morocco to film the video clip for their duet which will be directed by the Colombian director Simon Brand who is famous for his work with artists such as Shakira, Ricky Martin, Jessica Simpson and Thalia.
Dina Hayek's new song is out
After the success of her previous songs written in Gulf Arabic, Al Mitrab' Hona, Jarabl Al Ghirah and Ala Ayamak, Lebanese singer Dina Hayek is now promoting her new song La'oob which was also written in the same dialect. The song is written by Musab Al Anzi.
The singer recently left Rotana after a misunderstanding. But, she says she has no regrets as the problem could be solved with further negotiations.
