An Interview with Rockstar director, Imtiaz Ali

Rockstar has bagged several nominations including Best Film, Best Actor (Ranbir Kapoor) and Song of the Year.

Awards are not on his mind as Ali gears up to party with his Rockstar crew in Macau.
"It's like we are re-grouping after the end of Rockstar. It will also be fun to meet people from my industry that you have not met," said Ali.

He adds that while making Rockstar, getting the story right was his top priority.

"We didn't think about awards. It is too conceited to think about the awards that you might win. Sometimes you have to work in purity and do your best work rather than focus it on an award- winning performance. That is detrimental to the cohesive spirit of the film," said Ali.

"Right now, the plan is catch up with old friends and make new ones."
