Dubai: Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector is expected to generate 1.7 million jobs over the next six years, according to a statement by Elaf Group on Thursday, sourcing a report by the Saudi Commission on Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA).

The tourism sector accounts for 2.6 per cent of the country’s economy, according to the statement.

The Saudi Travel and Tourism Investment Market (STTIM), which is expected to be held between March 31 and April 4 in Riyadh, will cover a range of topics related to the tourism industry, such as how transportation projects can help enhance and develop the tourism sector and safety and security in hotels.
