Abu Dhabi: UAE telecommunications service providers etisalat and du confirmed Friday that all Blackberry services will continue to operate as normal following a Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA ) notification.
Earlier today, the TRA had confirmed that Blackberry services are now compliant with the UAE's telecommunications regulatory framework.

"Since the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority's August 1 announcement regarding the possible suspension of certain Blackberry applications, our focus has always been to ensure continuity of service for our customers", said a statement from etisalat.
It added that as a service provider to over 80% BlackBerry users in the UAE, etisalat will continue offering exceptional services to its existing and future BlackBerry customers.
"In light of the TRA decision, the alternative mobility packages announced by etisalat in August, for its existing BlackBerry customers, are no longer applicable", said the statement.
Etisalat also announced that it will be launching two new BlackBerry devices – the Torch and the New Curve, along with other exciting offers in the coming days.

UAE's telecommunications provider du confirmed Friday that all its Blackberry services, for both Consumer and Enterprise customers, will continue to operate as normal.
A statement from du welcomed the notification from UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) for uninterrupted Blackberry services in the UAE.
"Since the TRA's August 1 announcement regarding the possible suspension of certain Blackberry services, our focus has always been to ensure continuity of service for our customers," said du.
TRA had confirmed earlier today that Blackberry services are now compliant with the UAE's telecommunications regulatory framework.
