Saudi Arabia: Rotten meat served to patients in government hospitals

Abu Dhabi: Saudi authorities are investigating how a food company was able to supply large quantities of rotten meat to Al Rass Hospital in Al Qassim region, at the heart of the kingdom, local media reported.

The incident was uncovered as the rotten meat was cooked in the hospital. Spoiled food has been served to in-patients for unspecified period of time, Al Watan reported. No food poisoning was reported.

The accused company provided the spoiled meat to several other hospitals, investigations revealed.
