Sheikh Mishal takes oath as Kuwait Crown Prince
Sheikh Mishal was nominated by the Emir Sheikh Nawaf on Wednesday
Kuwait City: Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah took oath before the National Assembly on Thursday as Kuwait's Crown Prince, Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, reported.
"I swear by Almighty Allah to respect the Constitution and the laws of the State, to defend the liberties, interests and properties of the people and to safeguard the independence and territorial integrity of the country and be loyal to the Amir," Sheikh Mishal said.
Earlier, Kuwait’s National Assembly unanimously approved Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmed Al Sabah as Crown Prince on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah nominated Sheikh Mishal as his crown prince.
According to the Kuwaiti constitution, the Emir’s nomination for crown prince must be approved by the National Assembly.
