Kuwait’s COVID-19 deaths hit all-time high
Fatalities in April accounted for 16% of country’s overall coronavirus deaths
Cairo: Kuwait registered 250 deaths in April resulting from COVID-19, the country’s highest since the start of the pandemic in February last year, according to a media breakdown.
Those fatalities accounted for 16 per cent of all coronavirus deaths of 1,563 recorded in Kuwait since February last year.
April’s highest daily death rates were reported with 21 each on April 4 and 21.
Meanwhile, a total of 41,788 coronavirus infections were confirmed in April, accounting for 15.2 per cent of the country’s overall infection tally.
Mass vaccinations
The highest daily infection rate in April was registered on the 12th day of the month with 1,127 cases.
The Gulf country of 4.7 million population kicked off mass vaccinations against COVID-19 in December.
Despite the inoculation campaign and stringent virus-related restrictions in Kuwait, an uptick in infections has recently been seen in the country.
