The Saudi General Directorate of Public Security stated that anyone who delays reporting the departure of invited visitors on time faces fines of up to SR50,000 or a maximum imprisonment of six months.

Starting May 23, holders of all types of visit visas have been prohibited from entering or residing in Mecca for one month. Saudi authorities have clarified that visit visas of all types do not serve as Hajj permits and have urged holders of such visas not to head to Mecca during the period running until June 21.
