Pakistan Air Force aircraft crashes during training, pilots eject safely

Islamabad: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) aircraft crashed in Attock, north of Punjab province, on Friday during a routine training mission, the air force said.

Both pilots ejected successfully from the fighter trainer aircraft and remained unhurt, the air force officials confirmed. “No loss of life or property was reported on the ground,” the official statement added.

It was not immediately clear what had caused the plane to crash. PAF has ordered a board of inquiry to determine the cause of the incident.

Air Force officials said that it was a dual-seat trainer aircraft and did not describe the aircraft type involved in the crash.

The last such incident was reported in September 2020 when a PAF trainee aircraft crashed near the Pindigheb area of the Attock district. The pilot was able to eject safely.
