Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to advance its humanitarian efforts in support of Sudan, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to international solidarity and its long-standing approach of assisting friendly nations in times of crisis.

This consistent humanitarian stance has become especially critical as Sudan endures one of the most severe conflicts in its modern history.

Since violence erupted in April 2023, millions of civilians have faced displacement, food insecurity, and the collapse of essential services.

UAE's response

In response, the UAE has intensified its support, focusing on alleviating the catastrophic humanitarian conditions and ensuring that the needs of civilians remain at the center of relief efforts.

From 2015 to 2025, the UAE delivered $4.24 billion in combined humanitarian and development assistance

The scale of the UAE’s assistance reflects both strategic commitment and genuine humanitarian concern.

Between 2014 and 2025, the UAE provided nearly $3.95 billion (Dh14.5 billion) in aid to the Republic of Sudan. This substantial contribution underscores the depth of the UAE’s dedication to the welfare, dignity, and stability of the Sudanese people.

The support extends beyond immediate relief, encompassing long-term development initiatives that strengthen resilience and help rebuild critical sectors affected by the conflict.

Humanitarian air bridges

From 2015 to 2025, the UAE delivered $4.24 billion in combined humanitarian and development assistance, reaffirming its role as one of Sudan’s most committed international partners.

This support has included emergency food supplies, medical assistance, shelter, and the establishment of humanitarian air bridges, as well as development projects aimed at restoring economic stability and reinforcing essential infrastructure.

The UAE's ongoing engagement is guided by core principles of compassion, regional stability, and shared responsibility

The UAE's ongoing engagement is guided by core principles of compassion, regional stability, and shared responsibility. Its efforts seek not only to respond to urgent needs but also to contribute to Sudan’s long-term recovery and human development.

By emphasising sustainable assistance and placing the well-being of civilians at the forefront, the UAE aims to ease suffering, promote stability, and support Sudan through one of the most challenging periods in its history.

In continuing to provide substantial aid and humanitarian leadership, the UAE demonstrates a clear message: solidarity with the Sudanese people is not a temporary gesture, but a sustained commitment rooted in longstanding ties, humanitarian values, and a vision for a more stable and secure region.
