Omani National Day: Travellers receive special welcome at Hatta border and Dubai Airport

Dubai: The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) celebrated the 55th Omani National Day by welcoming travellers from the Sultanate with special festivities at the Hatta border crossing and Dubai International Airport.

The initiative coincided with the UAE’s wider celebrations honouring the deep, historic ties between the two nations. Arriving visitors received a commemorative passport stamp and symbolic gifts, reflecting the spirit of hospitality and the enduring relationship between the UAE and Oman.

Senior officials were present at the celebrations, including Major General Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, Director General of the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority; Brigadier Nabil Mohammed Al Qergawi, Deputy Assistant Director General for Maritime and Land Ports Affairs; and Colonel Dr Rashid Obaid Al Ketbi, Director of the Land Ports Passport Control Department. Officers and staff greeted visitors and distributed gifts, showcasing the warmth and unity shared by the neighbouring countries.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, said the gesture reflects the strength of UAE–Oman relations. “What unites the UAE and Oman is not just a shared border, but bonds of brotherhood spanning generations,” he said. “Our priority is to ensure every visitor enjoys an entry experience that reflects our values and leaves a positive first impression.”

GDRFA Dubai reiterated its commitment to delivering exceptional, people-centred service in line with the UAE’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Gulf relations and highlight its values of hospitality, respect, and cultural connection.
