I had a problem with my end-of-service settlement, which was deposited to my account at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB). I had worked in my previous company for almost three years, and the final settlement was deposited in my account, but FAB froze it. The reason was because I had a personal loan with them.

I provided all the documents that they needed to update my records, pertaining to my employment with the new company, my new visa, salary transfer letter, salary certificate and a letter from the new company. But, there was still no feedback from them. Also, my January salary (as I was working for five days) was credited. As per my salary transfer letter, I joined them on January 27, but FAB’s credit card department charged me with late fees on my credit card, and 100 per cent of the amount was automatically deducted from my account. Still, I am dealing with FAB, even though I never had a fine for loan instalments or credit card payments earlier.

Gulf News, please help me with this issue. I need that money to pay my credit card bills.

From Mr Moinudeen Mandian Arangadi

Abu Dhabi
