Rhinos have horns, elephants their trunks and crocodiles incredible teeth and jaws.

But for a giraffe the feature which sets them apart is that muscular, dominant neck.

You’d think a broken neck for a wild giraffe would mean certain death at the hands of a predator.

But that’s not always the case.

This amazing video shows a Masai giraffe which has survived in the wild for five years despite the striking deformity.

The author of the video claims the animal has carried the defect since birth.

But a guide at Serengeti National Park, where the animal lives, told the Daily Mail that it was an injury suffered during a fight over a mate.
