Manama: A Kuwaiti lawmaker has called on the government to provide weapons and funds for the Palestinians.
In his proposal, MP Abdul Hamid Abbas Dashti said the Kuwaiti parliament must issue "a decision that compels the government to providing weapons, military equipment and funds for the Palestinians and the resistance factions to enable them to carry out military operations against the Israeli occupation."
The move by Dashti comes three days after the parliament called on the parliament to support the Syrian Free Army, sever its diplomatic ties with the Syrian regime and recognize the Syrian national Council.
The parliament's call sparked a bitter standoff between the lawmakers who were divided mainly alongside sectarian faults.
Dashti told fellow MPs that the people were killed in Syria "by death squads" and that "the National Council has been recognised only by Libya and Tunisia."
