Dubai: Students will be considered absent until they take both COVID-19 doses, the Saudi Minister of Education Dr. Hamad Al Sheikh announced

Welcoming the return of teachers to schools on Sunday, Al Sheikh said students 12 and above must receive two doses of COVID-19 vaccine to attend schools, and those who have not taken the two doses will be considered absent.

“Managing the educational process in light of the pandemic is not easy, but in education we are used to turning challenges into opportunities for change and development,” Al Sheikh added.

“It is everyone’s responsibility to continue the educational journey for students while ensuring their safety and health inside the school and applying all precautionary measures,” the minister noted.

He called on all students, their parents, and teachers to take the vaccine.
