Manila Ten people, including government officials, police officers and media personalities, could be charged for the botched August 23 hostage rescue which left eight Hong Kong tourists dead.

"We have [had] discussions on specific accountabilities of specific officers and [other] personalities ... We expect the president to act on the basis of our recommendation …," said Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, head of the Incident Investigation and Review Committee created to investigate the incident.

"High enough," de Lima said when asked about the rank of those who could face charges, adding the panel would seek sanctions against "more or less 10" people.
