Abu Dhabi: Dr Anwar Mohammad Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, received yesterday (Wednesday) Dr Esmail Ould Cheikh Ahmad, United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen.
The UN envoy briefed Gargash on the outcomes of consultations and calls following the meeting between Yemeni parties in Kuwait.
Gargash pointed out that the UAE continues to back international efforts that support a political solution based on political referendums. He stressed the need for a political solution based on Resolution No 2216 and for clear basic security mechanisms that pave the way for a political solution.
