Abu Dhabi: Final exams for Grade 12 students to the end of the 2016 academic year start on Sunday.

A total of 14,733 literary and scientific stream students from public and private schools which apply the ministry’s curriculum as well as those from adult education centres and home study will begin their final exam on Sunday in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region — with 7,633 students from Abu Dhabi, 6,066 from Al Ain and 1,034 from the Western Region, Mohammad Salem Al Daheri, Abu Dhabi Education Council’s Executive Director of School Operations, said.

He added that all students were distributed among 98 examination committees, with 31 committees in Abu Dhabi — 14 for boy students and 17 allocated for girl students.

Al Ain will have 45 committees with 24 for boys and other 21 for girls while the Western Region will include 22 committees with 10 for boys and 12 for girls, Al Daheri said.

Al Daheri pointed out that all examination committees are on standby to receive students performing their final exams that will last until June 7 for scientific stream and June 9 for the literary stream. The exams’ results will be announced on June 27 while the make-up and retake results will be declared on June 30.

He wished all students best of luck and urged them to study well and to make good use of every single minute to score the best results that will make them eligible to join higher educational institutions.
