Sharjah: Thumbay Group has opened a clinic and a pharmacy in Abu Shagara area of Sharjah.

The opening of the facility is part od the health care group’s expansion programme in Dubai and Sharjah.

Dr Thumbay Moideen, founder president of Thumbay Group inaugurated the state-of-the-art facility, in the presence of Mohammad Meeran, Chairman of Electric Way, Dubai.

“We are very excited to have the clinic in Abu Shagara. Delivering high-quality, patient-focused, cost-effective health care service has always been an important priority of Thumbay Group’s academic hospitals and family clinics. The new clinic will provide a range of specialist services to the community, consolidating Thumbay Clinics’ reputation as a popular chain of family clinics,” said Akbar Moideen Thumbay, vice-president of the Healthcare Division of Thumbay Group.

He added that the new clinic and pharmacy are part of the Group’s global expansion plans. The Group intends to increase its network by at least ten times and increasing the employee strength to 25,000 in the next 4 to 5 years.

“The Thumbay academic hospital network will have a total of 1,000 beds in the UAE, 1,500 beds in India and 750 beds elsewhere in the Gulf and Africa by 2022, in addition to upcoming clinics, day care hospitals, labs and pharmacies at various locations,” he said.

Clinics and pharmacies are at various stages of development at Deira Waterfront, Dragon Mart, Bur Dubai and Rahmaniya Mall in Sharjah. This is in addition to the new project coming up at Thumbay Medicity, Al Jurf, Ajman, the Thumbay University Hospital Complex which includes the 500-bed Thumbay Hospital — the biggest private academic hospital in the region.
