Tickets for the November 12 exhibition football match between world champions Brazil and the UAE national team will go on sale across the UAE and in some countries in the region from today.

Dr. Joseph Szorad, General Manager of event managers Grand Champion presented the first ticket to Yousuf Al Sarkal, President of the UAE FA in the presence of UAE national team players Abdul Rahim Juma and Yousef Abdul Aziz.

The superstars of Brazil, among them Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo, will be making their first-ever visit to the region. The match will be played at the 47,500 seater Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi from 9.30 pm.

"Tickets for the game, which is sponsored by Nokia and i2, will be on sale from Sunday at outlets across the region including Virgin Megastores in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Cairo as well as in Hallmark outlets in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah," said Dr. Szorad.

"We feel the price of tickets is equal to the status of the superstars. Brazil are the best team in the world and we are confident that it will be a full house on November 12 as soccer fans rarely get such a fantastic opportunity."

Historic day

Yousuf Al Sarkal remarked: "It will be a historic day not just for the UAE but also for the Middle East as Brazil has yet to play a competitive match in the region. We are proud and honoured they have chosen to do so here in the emirates."

Ali Saleh Al Bloushi, representing official carrier Etihad Airways, said: "At Etihad Airways we are keen to support major sporting events."
