What you need to know:

  • According to the reader, 'faking it to make it' can result in trust issues.
  • The truth will eventually come out and it can ruin relationships and reputations.

Originality is everything. It is important to be yourself and be original. How can one make it by being fake? Honesty and sincerity matters a lot in life. Without this, trust cannot be achieved or maintained. I believe faking it has a very short life as now or later truth will come out. All respect and credit earned gets washed away. Name earned through hard work with complete truth of being self stays longer rather than false impressions.

Visualising a dream is one thing but to fake it till you make it, is another thing all together. Hiding your true self by acting is wrong. What if you don’t make it? No one can fake things for a longer period of time. Why not have a winning attitude instead?

In many professions like in sales, maybe such an attitude is applied. However just to sell things, lying about certain elements will only ruin the reputation of the company. Since I was in sales, I know this first hand. But this was always an open debate. Being transparent and authentic, is important. It might certainly not be easy but it’s important.

I don’t mind initially faking a positive attitude to cultivate the habit of being happy but I have seen people fake a smile to get over negative emotion, just to look like they have control over their emotions. It is important to be original and not fake it in life.
