Not activated, yet charged

It’s been one year now since I got the credit card and I have not been using it for 12 months. I thought that it was not activated and will automatically be deactivated if I do not use it. Now, according to Dunia bank, I had activated it and as a confirmation, I had informed them of my mother’s name. However, this confirmation was done for insurance purposes. Thus, it started from Dh20 and now due to late payment of one year, it has come up to Dh2,950. I am shocked and due to this, I have not been able to concentrate on my job. I am in great need of your support. Kindly rectify this matter.

The management of Dunia bank responded:

We have contacted Mr Kumar and would like to confirm that the matter has been resolved satisfactorily.

Mr Kumar responded:

I would like to inform you that I have received a confirmation stating that bank has reviewed my account and found that I have not used my credit card for one year. Due to this, they have informed me to pay an amount of Dh232 in order to close my credit card account.

Delay in providing internet service

On July 10, 2013, I contacted Etisalat to install internet service at home and I was told that there was a fiber optic cable in my compound (Desert Springs Villas, Shaikh Zayed Road, across from Media City, Barsha). When the installer came, he told me that the fiber optic was not available, and they would install the copper wire connections. But copper wire was not available either.

A new installer came and said that they would put a WiMAX radio connection. They put up the mast of wire (it’s still here and today is December 22) and could not get a signal due to all the high-rise buildings in the area. He suggested a G3 connection, which works off of the mobile network, but this was doubtful, too, as mobile phones don’t work here either.

I suggested that Etisalat install a booster for the WiMAX or an external antenna for mobile phones to allow us to use our mobile phones and G3 internet. But till this date (December 22), I have heard nothing from them. Everything is on the internet and along with me, 72 other homes in this compound cannot access the service. Can you please help me and my neighbours?
