First episode:
American magazine US Weekly has already seen the first episode, and calls it “another terrific opening act”. Here’s what to expect: They may have missed out on Regionals, but the New Directions gang could be heading to New York City for Nationals. What to sing? How about Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ Empire State of Mind? “We needed a New York song,” explains the series’ music supervisor, P.J. Bloom. The first episode also includes a rendition of Lady Gaga-Beyonce epic Telephone — pitting Sunshine (Charice) against Rachel. Other songs include Poison’s Every Rose Has Its Thorn, musical standards (What I Did for Love from A Chorus Line, Getting to Know You from The King and I and Listen from Dreamgirls), and Billionaire by Travie McCoy and Bruno Mars.
