Due to the conflicts within their national borders, millions of Syrians have been forced to leave their homes, their country and take refuge in neighbouring countries of Jordan and Lebanon.

Given that the temperatures are falling, Flea4Charity, a non-profit organisation, in association with the UAE Red Crescent aims to provide aid to some of these people by organising a drive to collect blankets and warm clothes for the refugees in the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan. There are currently over 100,000 men, women and children living in tents within the camp (according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) and they need articles to keep them warm during this cold weather.

This report is a call to the community to join in the cause and provide these necessary items to the Syrian refugees. All items must be new so we encourage you to purchase them from your nearest store and then have them delivered to us. Jackets, sweaters, socks, shawls, blankets and anything that will help keep people warm will be accepted.

On average, a blanket costs Dhs 35, a jacket costs Dhs 20 and Dhs 25 for a pair of boots. We’ve also set up an extensive network of drop off points across all cities of the UAE to make it convenient for everyone to donate. With your help, we can make a difference to the lives of the inhabitants of Zaatari camp.

Last day for submission is today since all the items will be packaged and delivered to the UAE Red Crescent to dipsatch to the camp in Syria.

All details about the #GiveSyria drive and the drop off points can be found on our social media pages facebook.com/Flea4Charity and twitter.com/Flea4Charity. You can also follow the current conversations around the campaign by following the hashtag #GiveSyria.
