Credit card cancellation
I have had a credit card with First Gulf Bank (FGB) since 2012. Every year, they charge me an annual fee and reverse the same, based on different criteria. This year as well, I was charged an annual fee. I got it reversed by availing auto payment for my etisalat mobile payment. Now, I have placed a request to cancel my credit card, but they are refusing to do so. If I need to cancel, I would need to pay an annual fee. This is not fair. It’s my right to cancel the card. I am not willing to keep the card active and go through this drama of annual fee and reversal.
From Mr Nishil Abdul Aziz
The management of First Gulf Bank responds:
FGB is grateful for all customer feedback to which we give careful consideration as we strive to consistently deliver the highest standards of service. The bank has been in contact with Mr Aziz, and the customer’s credit card will be cancelled.
Mr Aziz responds:
The bank has contacted me and the credit card has been cancelled. Thank you, Gulf News.
