In 2011, Flea4Charity hosted iftars for labourers at two sites that fed over a 1,000 people. This year, we aim to exceed that number by leaps and bounds but need your help to make this a reality.

You can join our cause and contribute by either donating money individually or through corporate sponsorship. We’ll collect the donations from anywhere in the UAE. All donations are screened by the UAE Red Crescent society and 100 per cent of all proceeds collected will be utilised in providing for the iftar packages.

The package comprises dates, water, a main dish and a dessert and will cost us Dh8 per person. Based on the amount of donations we receive, the food items will be purchased and packed by our caterers. They will handle both packaging and delivery and the members of Flea4Charity will be managing the distribution personally. The packages will be distributed to the labour camps in Al Quoz industrial area, in Dubai.

We hope to distribute the packages by the end of July. Depending on the amount of donations received, we might do one, two or even three distribution events. In 2011 we had managed to host two.

If you’d like to donate or require more information on the cause, you can get in touch with us at facebook.com/flea4charity or twitter.com/flea4charity and we’d be happy to provide you with all the information you seek.

Flea4Charity first started off as an organisation that used the local flea markets to raise funds for various social causes. We used this method to contribute towards humanitarian efforts in Libya, Tunisia and Egypt during the civil unrest along with raising funds for the East African drought of 2011. But overtime, we shifted gears to focus more on local causes.
