Balance fees

I have received a deduction in my Emirates NBD debit card for non-maintenance of balance fees. I have been receiving a monthly salary from the same debit card for the past two years and have not encountered any balance fee. It is not that big a sum of money, but every dirham counts. I wonder if there is any other solution to this matter, as I have already filed a complaint with Emirates NBD and haven’t heard from them yet. I do not want to wait another month to receive another deduction, which is utterly pointless.

From Ms Yngellie Jomadiao

Dubai

The management of Emirates NBD responds:

We are pleased to inform you that our Group Customer Experience team provided Ms Jomadiao with the necessary clarifications and the matter has been resolved.

We wish to clarify that Ms Jomadiao holds a payroll account with us and has changed her job, but has not provided the Bank with her new documents. Consequently, the system has charged the customer with account maintenance fees. We have requested Ms Jomadiao to provide us with the new salary transfer letter and necessary documents to change her account package. Additionally, as a service gesture, the Bank has waived off the maintenance charges levied on the account.

We would like to reiterate our commitment to providing superior service to our customers and thank you for your continuous support in providing us with the opportunity to resolve their issues.

Ms Jomadiao responds:

I would like to extend my deep gratitude to Gulf News and Emirates NBD for the quick response in resolving this matter. Their response gave light to the questions I have been pondering. I was asked by Emirates NBD to provide the salary certificate from my current employer and the deducted amount was returned to my account. I will provide the necessary documents to Emirates NBD as soon as possible. Thank you very much.
