Held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, Downtown Design 2022 will run form 9-12 November wide an extensive programme of events for more than 100,000 expected visitors to the biggest creative festival in the design capital of the Middle East.
The fair will showcase brands, designers, and manufacturers from the region and the world, with a special dedicated section this year for limited-edition and bespoke design as the perfect place for visitors to discover handmade and small-scale works. In the purpose-built venue, Downtown Design will additionally showcase the latest collections, products and design solutions.
In the exclusive, bespoke design section, Downtown Design becomes a platform to stage high-end furniture and put the craftsmanship of these objects on full display. Designers from all over the world are participating, including the Parisian studio Anne Jacquemin Sablon with interior pieces by Tristan Auer; Lebanon’s non-profit House of Today; Dubai-based Syrian brand ARE; Kuwaiti Studio Meshary AlNassar; Egyptian design studio R’kan; 20C Gallery from China;
Homegrown Dubai brand Klekktic will also take part with a line of customisable high-end furniture, as will Omar Al Gurg’s brands, The Line Concept and MODU Method.
Last year Downtown Design came back to the in-person format and this year will see the festival continue to grow its sustainable theme in an effort to become a fully certified zero carbon event next year.
