Dubai: There is no limit when it comes to spoiling your baby, as proud parents are more than willing to spoil their bundle of joy with the best that money can buy.

And while Dubai is known for its bling-bling and flashy, customized luxury goods, the trend has extended to baby-related items.

But when is it time to draw the line?

The world’s most expensive baby crib will be making its debut in Dubai for the INDEX interior design exhibition in Dubai, which runs from March 26-29, 2018 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The baby bed will be on sale for a staggering Dh220,000, which is equivalent to US$60,000.

According to manufacturers – who are a team of yacht builders – the baby bed is clad in 24-karat gold-plating, and lined with Swarovski diamond-encrusted quilting.

The Luulu bed is more expensive that one year’s rent for a two-bedroom apartment in the Burj Khalifa, and its designers have confirmed that a waiting list of families are willing to welcome their newborns into the lap of luxury.

“The baby bed has been designed to mimic the feel of being in the womb, while offering parents a chic, high-end piece of furniture to add to their home,” said Polish designers Marta Buzalska and Darius Panczyk.
