Abu Dhabi: The African Union will be commemorating 50 years since the formation of the Organisation of African Unity. The celebrations, which are themed “2013, Year of Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance”, will kick off in Addis Ababa on Saturdayand will be followed by a year of celebrations across the globe.
The Africa Group of Ambassadors represented in the UAE will celebrate Africa Day with two events that will be held in Abu Dhabi.
On Saturday Africa Day celebrations will take place at Officers Club from 10:00 until 4:00 pm. Activities at the event will include a Cultural and Art Exhibition, African Food Presentation, Children’s Fashion Show and children entertainment, African Dance and Music and a Raffle Draw.
On Sunday a Gala Dinner will be hosted by the Dean of the African Ambassador’s Group, Ambassador Hamid Chebira of Algeria for invited guests only.
