Dubai: A ten-year-old Indian boy is all set to perform the farewell song at the Ibda'a awards ceremony at the Dubai Media City on Thursday.

“I will be singing ‘Bawada'ak' (I bid you goodbye), a Khaleeji song (an Arabian-Gulf dialect). It is originally sung by one of my favourite singers, Emirati Hussain Al Jasmi,'' said Nadir Abdul Salem with a twinkle in his eyes.

A resident of Qatar, the young boy is here in Dubai with his father to give stage performances. He gave his first stage show when he was four years old.

Nadir was given an opportunity to perform a two-minute solo after his father had a chance meeting with a senior officials from Ibda'a at the Dubai Press Club.

“I am not scared to sing solo at all. I love singing. It makes me happy when people listen to me and applaud,'' said Nadir, a fifth grade student who is also the eldest of seven siblings.

“I want to do well in my studies as well as in singing. I get a lot of compliments from my friends and classmates,'' said Nadir, who has so far given 500 stage shows.
