Dubai: When Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond announced the Autumn Budget earlier this week, some were left scratching their heads.

Scott was in that category, calling it one of the most foolish actions by the UK since Brexit itself.

But we didn’t necessarily agree. So we took it to the podcast.

On today’s episode, we debate the relative merits of the budget, including the controversial tech tax, the money being pumped in to the National Health Service (NHS), and the cash allocated to environmental services.

We also discuss the political maneuvering that the budget represents, including the claims by Hammond that it represents an “end to austerity.”

Lastly, we look at the budget in the context of a looming Brexit, now just 149 days away, and what kind of implications it might have for Britain’s ongoing talks with the EU.
