Dubai: Adnoc Distribution, the Abu Dhabi-based gasoline retailer, yesterday launched a new service called Auto Care at its stations in Abu Dhabi.

The company said the move comes as part of its strategy to offer top of the range products and best services to its customers,

"After evaluating the move, all options are open to extend the new services to new areas in Adnoc stations in the northern emirates," an Adnoc spokes-person told Gulf News.

"The launch comes in line with the wise policy of the UAE and in response to the rapid infrastructural growth and the follow-up of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to upgrade industrial and service sectors and use the latest and state-of-the-art technology," said Gamal Al Dharif, general manager of Adnoc Distribution.

The first experimental centre was opened at the Al Mushrif station on Mussafah Road. Two more Auto Service centres will be opened at the Al Manaseer and Al Zafarana stations.

"Our objective is to always seek innovation in a world that no longer relies on traditional equipment. Auto factories witness nowadays ever-expanding technology in the field of car manufacturing, especially for vehicles imported into the important UAE market. Our task is to keep abreast with this technological trend and the express and cost-effective services it's associated with," said Al Dharif.

In the first phase of the project, three centres will be operated at three Adnoc distribution service stations. Additional centres will be set up in the near future. US firm Precision Tune Auto Care has been selected to run the centres.
