Dubai: UAE-based online travel portal Musafir.com said over 20,000 stranded passengers had used its chartered flights to fly back to their countries at the height of the pandemic crisis. In collaboration with key corporate clients and NGOs in the UAE, the company organized chartered flights to help stuck tourists and residents who were made redundant due to the impact of COVID-19.
“Further, we were able to facilitate visas extensions for over 5,000 expatriates stranded in the UAE," said Raheesh Babu, Chief Operating Officer, in a statement. "We hope to continue our assistance and support as part of our responsibility and values and thank the authorities. The impact of this global pandemic is far and wide – no one is immune from it.”
Musafir.com offers flights to over 3,000 destinations and hotel stays in over 85,000 properties around the world.
