Video: Mobile phone explodes in technician’s face in Saudi Arabia

Abu Dhabi: A dramatic video shows a mobile phone exploding in the face of a repair technician in a Tabuk store in northwestern Saudi Arabia.

The technician, Mohammed Al Harbi, escaped with only minor burns. He told Sabq online a customer brought a phone to be repaired, and when he checked it he felt there was a problem with the battery.

As soon as he examined the phone, it exploded in his face, and almost caused a fire in the store.

Al Harbi warned against the use of counterfeit batteries.
