Saudi Arabia: COVID-19 jabs mandatory to attend workplace
Kingdom initiated mass vaccinations against coronavirus on December 17
Cairo: Saudi authorities have said that getting vaccinated against COVID-19 will be mandatory for attending workplaces as the kingdom is stepping up inoculation efforts against the highly infectious ailment.
The Saudi Ministry for Human Resources and Social Development said Friday that the COVID-19 vaccination will be a mandatory condition for public and private sector employees to go to the workplace.
The mechanism and date of starting implementing the decision will be made clear soon, the ministry added in a statement. “This measure is part of different state sectors’ efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus.”
Healthy workplaces
The ministry urged all sectors to encourage their employees to start procedures to get the vaccine to ensure “return to safe and healthy workplaces”.
Saudi Arabia initiated mass vaccinations against COVID-10 on December 17. Authorities have offered the vaccination to citizens and foreign residents for free.
The kingdom has expanded inoculation centres and services nationwide including giving the jabs to home-bound patients.
Authorities have also launched “Take the Step, Take the Vaccine”, a national awareness campaigning highlighting the importance of registering to get vaccinated.
