Cairo: Saudi authorities have recorded a total of 450 violations of a summer outdoor work ban since it has gone into effect in mid-June, Saudi media reported Wednesday.

The seasonal ban obliges employers not to conduct work in the sun daily from 12 at noon until 3pm until September 15.

The violations have been detected by field inspection teams affiliated to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social development, according to the Saudi news agency SPA.

The ministry has urged employers to abide by stipulations of the ban in order to protect employees from health hazards resulting from exposure to the sun. The inspection teams, said the ministry, will continue their field tours across the kingdom to ensure compliance with the ban.

The public are urged to report any violation via the app "Together for Monitoring" available on smartphones or by contacting the hotline 19911.
