COVID-19: Saudi Arabia reports 37 deaths 3,288 new cases
Riyadh topped the list of cities with the highest number of reported infections
Dubai: Saudi Arabia reported 3,288 new coronavirus cases, bringing the overall infections in the Kingdom to 108,571.
Additionally, 37 new fatalities were also reported, taking the death toll to 783, the Ministry of Health announced during a press conference on Tuesday.
There are 31,449 active cases, while the critically ill patients amounted to 1,686.
Riyadh topped the list of cities with the highest number of daily reported infections with 1,099 new cases, followed by Jeddah with 447 cases over the past 24 hours, Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammad Al Abdul Ali said during the conference.
There were 1,815 new recoveries, reaching a total of 76,339.
Authorities reimpose restrictions on Jeddah from Saturday as the number of coronavirus cases continued to rise. The restrictions ban movement in all areas of the city from 3pm to 6am and ban dining in restaurants and cafes.
Workplace attendance has also been halted, with the restrictions set to last until June 20. Elsewhere in the Kingdom, authorities have enacted a three-phase plan aimed at returning to normal life.
